Band encourages youth vote, uses Eventful Demand to let fans decide where
it will tour
SAN DIEGO, June 25 -- Eventful (http://eventful.com), the
leading global events Web site, has joined forces with multi-platinum,
Interscope rock band The All-American Rejects to route their next tour and
encourage voter registration through Rock the Vote, an organization
dedicated to building political power for young people. The All-American
Rejects, who won an MTV Video Music Award for Best Group Video for "Move
Along," are currently in the studio recording the follow up to their
multi-platinum sophomore CD, Move Along, and turning to their fans to
decide where to tour. Through Eventful's Demand service, The All-American
Rejects have launched a nationwide competition in which the top 5 cities
win a concert.
Eventful Demand enables fans to influence where their favorite artists
perform by creating grassroots campaigns to "Demand" the artists to come to
their town. Thousands of artists, comedians and even politicians are using
Eventful Demand to connect with their fans and empower them to help shape
their tour. Eventful Demand is quickly becoming a phenomenon in the music
and entertainment industry.
"We get tons of requests to play in cities all over the world, and
since we can't make it everywhere, we're really excited to be able to let
our fans decide where to go. A great bonus is to be able to spread the
message about how important it is to get involved and register to vote in
the upcoming election. We're excited to be working with Eventful and Rock
the Vote on this unique competition," said The All-American Rejects.
"We are encouraging fans to register to vote at the same time they are
voting for The All-American Rejects to play in their city. Connecting voter
registration to pop culture and music is core to Rock the Vote's mission to
engage young people across the country who are demanding to be heard in
this historic election," said Heather Smith, Executive Director, Rock the
Vote.
Launched June 24th, The All-American Rejects Demand competition will
continue through 2:00 p.m. PT, September 15, on Eventful. The winning
cities will be announced on September 15.
"It's an honor to work with Rock the Vote and The All-American Rejects
to promote voter registration and broader youth engagement in the political
process," said Jordan Glazier, CEO of Eventful. "We're excited to help The
All-American Rejects give their fans the power to shape their tour."
Along with MySpace, YouTube, and iTunes, Eventful is quickly becoming
an essential part of the online marketing toolkit for performers and
artists, empowering fans to influence the touring decisions of their
favorite performers and enabling performers to make the best decisions
about where to tour.
Fans can log on to http://eventful.com/allamericanrejects,

to register to vote and join the competition to Demand a performance from

Sergio Contreras was no unknown to Spanish pop audiences when "Llena de Luz y de Sal" hit the securities industry in 2005. Contreras was a longtime medicine commercial enterprise veteran by the time he chose to focus on songwriting and performance, having worked for old age as a radio DJ and spinning in clubs end-to-end Andalusia. Born in Huelva, Contreras had developed a sharp musical auricle and longed to unite the flamenco music of his heritage and the R&B/hip-hop that he worked with as a DJ. Having earned a reputation in the part as a top DJ, he began work toward these ends in 2004 with "Racisme (Maqueta Asere)." Thanks to his grassroots fan base, Contreras was able to sell better than 5,000 copies. Though safe for an independently released debut record, the numbers did not satisfy his ambitions. His debut full-length, De Luz y de Sal, contained the teen anthem "Yo No Quise" and sold more than than 50,000 copies, earning the creative person his first gold record. Following a summer total of resilient performances and promotional newmarket, Contreras released his breakthrough work, El Espejo. The record landed him a position in Billboard's Top European one C and invitations to perform all over the continent. His 2006 release, El Espejo, a disk featuring new songs, video clips from his recent duty tour, and a number of his hits, sold better than 25,000 copies in its beginning month. In the footsteps of artists like Alejandro Sanz and El Barrio, Contreras is one of few Andalusian artists world Health Organization both honour their rich, folkloric heritage and live in the musical salute.

The cosmic post-rock band Mogwai was formed in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1996 by guitarist/vocalist Stuart Braithwaite, guitar player Dominic Aitchison, and drummer Martin Bulloch, longtime friends with the finish of creating "grave guitar music." Toward that end they added some other guitar player, John Cummings, before debuting in March 1996 with the single "Radio," a curiosity in the Mogwai discography for its big vocals; the followup, a tear individual with Dweeb titled "Angels vs. Aliens," landed in the Top Ten on the British indie charts. Following appearances on a series of compilations, Mogwai returned later on in the year with the 7" "Summertime"; after another early 1997 individual, "Fresh Paths to Helicon," they issued Ten Rapid, a ingathering of their earliest material.
Around the prison term of recording the brilliant 1997 EP 4 Satin, previous Teenage Fanclub and Telstar Ponies member Brendan O'Hare united the lineup in time to record Mogwai's debut studio LP, Mogwai Young Team, exiting a short time later to come back to his primary projects, Macrocosmica and Fiend. Again a quartet, Mogwai adjacent issued 1998's Kicking a Dead Pig, a two-disc remix collection; the No Education = No Future (Fuck the Curfew) EP appeared a few months later. In 1999, they released Come On Die Young. Rock candy Action arrived in early 2001. Late that year, Mogwai released the My Father, My King EP; deuce years later, they issued the ironically coroneted Happy Songs for Happy People. Administration Commissions: BBC Sessions 1996-2004 arrived early in 2005. Mr. Beast, which was released in 2006, institute the band sledding in a softer, more reflective direction. Late that year, the band's coaction with Clint Mansell on the soundtrack to The Fountainhead arrived; Mogwai as well crafted the scotch for Douglas Gordon's Zidane: A twenty-first Century Portait, which was released in the U.K. in 2006 and in the U.S. the following springiness.
