Gwen Stefani gives birth to baby boy

LOS ANGELES () - Singer and songwriter Gwen Stefani gave birth to a boy named Zuma on Thursday in Los Angeles, her second child with married man Gavin Rossdale, her spokesman said.





Stefani and her baby are "happy and salubrious" following the birth at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, publicizer Dave Tomberlin said in a statement. Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale weighs 8.5 pounds, Tomberlin aforementioned.





Stefani, 38, and Rossdale, 40, have one other child, a son named Kingston who was born in 2006.





The California-born Stefani rose wine to celebrity with the band No Doubt in the nineties, scoring shoot songs such as "Just a Girl" and "Don't Speak." Her 2004 album "Love. Angel. Music. Baby." became a breakout solo hit.





Stefani and Rossdale, wHO gained fame in the British stone band Bush, married in 2002.

Keyboards, oboe, reeds, vocals, composer. Though a versatile instrumentalist and expressive forte-piano player, Carn attained more than ill fame in 70s for penning lyrics to classical malarky anthems. Carn began keyboard lessons as a kid and was curtly playing piano and organ, summation alto saxophone. He studied hautboy and penning at Jacksonville University from 1965 to 1967, and then ruined his training at Georgia State College in 1969. He worked curtly with Lou Donaldson, Stanley Turrentine and Irene Reid, then became popular in mid-'70s with albums for Black Jazz pronounce. He penned lyrics for such songs as "Babe Eyes," "Mount Adams Apple" and "Book of Revelation." His married fair sex at the time, Jean Carn later became R&B star as single move; she changed name spelling to Carne. Carn eventually did 2 albums with Earth, Wind And Fire just was non as successful on the job with them as Ramsey Lewis.

Sergio Contreras was no unknown to Spanish pop audiences when "Llena de Luz y de Sal" hit the securities industry in 2005. Contreras was a longtime medicine commercial enterprise veteran by the time he chose to focus on songwriting and performance, having worked for old age as a radio DJ and spinning in clubs end-to-end Andalusia. The record landed him a position in Billboard's Top European one C and invitations to perform all over the continent. His 2006 release, El Espejo, a disk featuring new songs, video clips from his recent duty tour, and a number of his hits, sold better than 25,000 copies in its beginning month. The cosmic post-rock band Mogwai was formed in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1996 by guitarist/vocalist Stuart Braithwaite, guitar player Dominic Aitchison, and drummer Martin Bulloch, longtime friends with the finish of creating "grave guitar music." Toward that end they added some other guitar player, John Cummings, before debuting in March 1996 with the single "Radio," a curiosity in the Mogwai discography for its big vocals; the followup, a tear individual with Dweeb titled "Angels vs. Aliens," landed in the Top Ten on the British indie charts. Following appearances on a series of compilations, Mogwai returned later on in the year with the 7" "Summertime"; after another early 1997 individual, "Fresh Paths to Helicon," they issued Ten Rapid, a ingathering of their earliest material.


Around the prison term of recording the brilliant 1997 EP 4 Satin, previous Teenage Fanclub and Telstar Ponies member Brendan O'Hare united the lineup in time to record Mogwai's debut studio LP, Mogwai Young Team, exiting a short time later to come back to his primary projects, Macrocosmica and Fiend. Again a quartet, Mogwai adjacent issued 1998's Kicking a Dead Pig, a two-disc remix collection; the No Education = No Future (Fuck the Curfew) EP appeared a few months later. In 1999, they released Come On Die Young. Rock candy Action arrived in early 2001. Late that year, Mogwai released the My Father, My King EP; deuce years later, they issued the ironically coroneted Happy Songs for Happy People. Administration Commissions: BBC Sessions 1996-2004 arrived early in 2005. Mr. Beast, which was released in 2006, institute the band sledding in a softer, more reflective direction. Late that year, the band's coaction with Clint Mansell on the soundtrack to The Fountainhead arrived; Mogwai as well crafted the scotch for Douglas Gordon's Zidane: A twenty-first Century Portait, which was released in the U.K. in 2006 and in the U.S. the following springiness.

Singer CARLY SIMON once hung up on her former boyfriend CAT STEVENS when he phoned for a chat - because he identified himself with his new Islam name.

Stevens, who changed his name to Yusaf Islam when he converted to the Muslim faith in 1977, called Simon, 62, to wish her a happy birthday - but gave her his newly adopted title.

She recalls, "The voice said, 'Hello, Carly, this is Yusef Islam.' And I said, 'I'm sorry, I don't know anyone by that name' and hung up.

"He called back and said the same thing, so I hung up again. Later in the day, he called again and this time he relinquished his name and said, 'Carly, it's Cat Stevens.' And I said, 'Oh, it's you, I love you!'"

Former Blue isaac Bashevis Singer Tsung Dao Lee Ryan has been arrested after allegedly attacking a cab driver on New Year's Eve.
24-year-old Ryan was traveling to a political party in Surrey when he was reportedly involved in a shaver elevator car crash.
An affray with the driver of the other vehicle followed the collision, according to The Sun.

The tradition of Indian percussion has been revolutionalized by tabla actor Zakir Hussain. The son of Ustad Allah Rakha, the long metre cooperator in offense of Ravi Shankar, Hussain has transmitted his father's quest for delivery the music of Bharat to the international stage. His transcription credits include albums with George Harrison, Joe Henderson, New wave James Douglas Morrison, Diddly-squat David Bruce, Tito Puente, Pharoah Saunders, Nightstick Cobham, the Hong Kong Symphonic music and the Newly Orleans Symphonic music. His work with Mick Lorenz Hart of The Grateful Dead consume included performances and albums with the Diga Calendar method of birth control Band and Planet Drum. Hussain joined with Brits guitarist John McLaughlin and Amerind violinist L. Ravi Shankar to descriptor the east-meets-west supergroup, Shakti, in 1975. Although the radical disbanded in 1978, they reunited to turn as Commemorate Sakti in 1998. Hussain has been as successful as a bandleader. During the 1980s, he toured with Zakir Hussain's Rhythm Experience. His debut solo record record album, Devising Music, released in 1987, was called "unity of the virtually elysian East-West fusion albums forever recorded".
